As a Construction Technician, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operational success of our construction sites, providing essential technical support and oversight. Your core responsibilities will include meticulous site inspections, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications and quality standards, and verifying that all work aligns with safety protocols and local building regulations. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and various on-site teams, interpreting technical drawings, monitoring construction progress, and assisting in the resolution of any technical issues that arise. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical assistance and support to Project Managers and Site Engineers on construction sites.
  • Conduct regular and thorough site inspections to ensure all work adheres to design specifications, quality benchmarks, and industry best practices.
  • Accurately interpret and verify technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documentation, ensuring their correct implementation.
  • Monitor and report on construction progress, materials usage, and resource allocation, identifying potential delays or issues.
  • Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Perform quality control checks on construction materials and workmanship, promptly identifying and documenting any deviations or non-conformities.
  • Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely execution and seamless integration of work phases.
  • Assist in the identification, analysis, and resolution of technical problems encountered during construction.
  • Contribute to the preparation of detailed progress reports, daily logs, and as-built documentation.
  • Support the optimization of construction methodologies and on-site processes for enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Technical Diploma (e.g., Geometra, Building Technician) in Construction, Surveying, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of proven practical experience as a Construction Technician or in a similar site-based technical role, preferably within large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise in reading, understanding, and interpreting complex technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, and quality control procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant Italian building codes, regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design software for drawing review and verification.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong working relationships within a diverse team.
  • Fluency in Italian (both written and spoken) is essential for on-site communication and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Possession of relevant certifications in construction safety, quality assurance, or specific technical skills.
  • Basic professional proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Prior experience in specific infrastructure sectors such as high-speed rail, metropolitan transport, or complex structural works.
