Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Construction Workers to join our dynamic team in Likileng, Butha-Buthe. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about building and contributing to essential infrastructure projects in Lesotho. As a Construction Worker, you will be an integral part of our on-site crew, responsible for performing a variety of tasks crucial to the successful completion of our construction projects. Your day-to-day activities will involve physical labor, operating basic tools and machinery, and adhering strictly to safety protocols. We value individuals who are reliable, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to teamwork. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced construction environment. You will work under the guidance of experienced supervisors and contribute directly to the progress of our projects, helping us maintain our high standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general construction labor, including site clean-up, material handling, and debris removal.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, masons, equipment operators) with various tasks.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, such as drills, grinders, compactors, and mixers.
- Load and unload construction materials, ensuring proper storage and organization on site.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth using shovels, picks, and other equipment.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Prepare surfaces for various construction activities, including concrete pouring, paving, and finishing.
- Monitor equipment and tools for proper functioning and report any issues to supervisors.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project milestones are met.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools common in construction.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a construction or manual labor role.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B or higher).
- Certification in basic first aid or construction safety.
- Experience operating specific construction equipment (e.g., bobcat, forklift) is a plus.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
