Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor duties at construction sites, including digging trenches, mixing and pouring concrete, loading and unloading materials.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., drills, saws, grinders, levels).
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with their tasks, following instructions carefully.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and other forms as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Follow blueprints, instructions, and specifications accurately to ensure project quality.
  • Inspect work for defects and ensure quality standards are met throughout the construction process.
  • Handle and transport heavy materials and equipment, sometimes requiring the use of machinery.
  • Participate in site clean-up and maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
  • Report any potential hazards or safety concerns immediately to the site supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Construction Worker or in a similar general labor role.
  • Familiarity with common construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to construction site safety practices and regulations.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and agility to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills for effective collaboration with crew members.
  • Basic problem-solving aptitude and ability to adapt to changing site conditions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, forklifts, skid steers).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
