Key Responsibilities

  • Review user-generated content (text, images, videos) against established community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Make accurate and consistent moderation decisions, including removal, flagging, or escalation, in a timely manner.
  • Identify and analyze complex and nuanced content, including potential hate speech, misinformation, graphic content, and intellectual property violations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation policies, tools, and processes by providing feedback and insights.
  • Collaborate with policy, legal, and engineering teams to address emerging content trends and policy challenges.
  • Maintain a high level of performance, accuracy, and efficiency while working independently in a remote setting.
  • Stay informed about current events, cultural trends, and platform-specific nuances that may impact content moderation.
  • Document and report specific cases and trends for quality assurance and policy development purposes.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years (36 months) of experience in content moderation, trust & safety, or a related field.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills to evaluate complex content effectively.
  • Proven ability to make sound, objective decisions quickly and consistently under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and resilience when exposed to potentially disturbing content.
  • Strong understanding of internet culture, social media platforms, and online community dynamics.
  • Proficiency with content moderation tools and basic office software (e.g., G Suite, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish) relevant to global user bases.
  • Experience with specific content moderation platforms or large-scale content review operations.
  • Familiarity with legal frameworks related to online content (e.g., GDPR, DMCA, NetzDG).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Psychology, or Criminology.
