Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our growing team in Downtown, Raytown. This full-time position is critical to enhancing our operational efficiency, reducing waste, and improving overall productivity across our processes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. You will be instrumental in identifying bottlenecks, developing innovative solutions, and leading improvement projects from conception through implementation and sustainment.
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to analyze current processes, collect data, and identify areas for improvement. You will design and implement process changes, develop standard operating procedures, and provide training to ensure the long-term success of new initiatives. This role requires an individual who is not only adept at technical analysis but also possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills to champion a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other methodologies.
- Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and areas for improvement.
- Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project success and sustained improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Design and implement new processes, tools, and training programs to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching and training to employees at all levels on Lean and Six Sigma principles and tools.
- Document process changes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, problem-solving, and waste reduction across the organization.
- Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a continuous improvement role within a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, SMED).
- Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies, with Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, Excel, Power BI).
- Demonstrated project management experience, capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously.

- Master's degree in a relevant engineering or business field.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
