Job Description
Homewood Health, a national leader in mental health and addiction services, is actively searching for a highly motivated and skilled Corporate Communications Associate to join our Guelph-based team. Your day-to-day will involve crafting engaging narratives that resonate across multiple platforms, from internal communications supporting our dedicated staff to external messaging aimed at clients, partners, and the general public. This includes developing press releases, website content, social media updates, executive communications, internal newsletters, and presentations. You will be responsible for ensuring all communications align with Homewood Health’s brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent and professional voice that reinforces our reputation as a trusted healthcare provider.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying communication opportunities and challenges, providing strategic advice, and implementing effective solutions. This involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Marketing, Clinical Operations, and Senior Leadership, to distill complex information into clear, concise, and compelling messages. You will also assist in managing media relations, monitoring industry trends, and supporting crisis communication efforts as needed. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit engaging content for various internal and external communication channels, including press releases, website, social media, newsletters, and executive messages.
- Support the planning and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that align with Homewood Health's strategic objectives and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments (HR, Marketing, Clinical Services, Leadership) to gather information, develop compelling stories, and ensure consistent messaging.
- Assist in media relations efforts, including drafting media advisories, responding to inquiries, and maintaining media contact lists.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to crisis communication planning and execution, helping to manage public perception and maintain brand integrity during sensitive situations.
- Ensure all communications adhere to brand voice, style guides, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong portfolio of writing samples.
- Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and compelling narratives.
- Proficiency in content creation for diverse platforms (web, social media, print, internal communications).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all written materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a corporate communications, public relations, or related role.
- Experience in the healthcare or mental health sector.
