Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead driver in the safe loading, unloading, and securing of packages and parcels.
- Verify delivery contents against shipping documents to ensure accuracy before and after transit.
- Navigate routes efficiently, assisting the driver in identifying optimal paths and delivering goods to designated locations within Thika and surrounding areas.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery, tracking information, and any customer feedback.
- Communicate effectively with customers upon delivery, ensuring a positive and professional interaction.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and procedures to ensure secure and timely deliveries.
- Assist with routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance reporting to ensure the delivery vehicle is always in optimal condition.
- Handle cash payments for COD (Cash on Delivery) orders accurately and responsibly, if required.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE or similar for light commercial vehicles, if applicable)
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Familiarity with Thika and Kiambu County road networks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics support role.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- A certificate in defensive driving or a related field.
