Job Description

As a Courier Driver, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe collection and delivery of various packages within a designated route primarily covering Lichfield and surrounding Birmingham areas. Your day will begin with organising your route, meticulously loading your vehicle to ensure secure transit, and double-checking that all parcels are accounted for using our advanced scanning systems. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport packages.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes using provided navigation and tracking tools.
- Collect and deliver a variety of packages to residential and commercial customers.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and security.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including scanning packages and obtaining signatures.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and schedules.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Proven ability to drive safely and confidently in various traffic conditions.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25kg.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Proficiency with navigation apps and handheld scanning devices.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a courier driver or in a similar delivery role.
- Good geographical knowledge of Lichfield and surrounding Birmingham areas.
- Experience using delivery management software.
- A clean criminal record check (DBS).
