Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload packages for delivery, ensuring proper handling of all items.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival of packages to customers in Yallahs and surrounding areas.
- Operate delivery vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Verify contents of packages against delivery manifest and obtain necessary signatures or confirmations upon delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic operational checks of the assigned delivery vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere to flexible scheduling, including potential weekend or evening shifts as per business needs.
- Handle cash or electronic payments as required, ensuring accuracy and security.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or incidents promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class B or equivalent)
- Thorough knowledge of Yallahs, Saint Thomas Parish, and surrounding areas
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Clean driving record for at least the past two years
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier, delivery, or logistics role
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and route optimization tools
- Proven track record of excellent customer service
