Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of all individuals entering the courthouse, including the use of metal detectors, X-ray machines, and physical inspections.
- Maintain a visible and authoritative presence within courtrooms, hallways, and public areas to deter unlawful activities and ensure order.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, disturbances, or security breaches, including active threats, medical emergencies, and unruly individuals.
- Escort judges, juries, witnesses, and defendants as required, ensuring their safety and security during transit and within court facilities.
- Monitor security cameras and alarm systems, reporting and addressing any suspicious activities or system malfunctions.
- Enforce all court rules, regulations, and policies, providing clear and concise instructions to the public and staff when necessary.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide assistance and directions to visitors, offering excellent customer service while maintaining security protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to stay updated on best practices in court security and emergency response.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and other security personnel during joint operations or investigations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Valid Arizona Guard Card (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
- Proficiency in security procedures, including access control, surveillance, and emergency response.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and perform duties requiring physical exertion.
