Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and risk assessments of existing loan portfolios.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and forecast potential credit losses.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to stress-test portfolios under various economic scenarios.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on portfolio health, risk exposures, and mitigation strategies for senior management.
  • Collaborate with credit officers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to enhance risk management frameworks.
  • Formulate and recommend strategies for portfolio optimization, including limit setting and concentration management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit risk management.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new credit products and risk assessment tools.
  • Provide analytical support for ad-hoc projects related to credit risk and portfolio management.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting credit portfolios.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in credit analysis, risk management, or portfolio management within financial services.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis (Excel, SQL, Python/R a plus).
  • Strong understanding of credit products, lending cycles, and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
  • CFA, FRM, or other relevant professional certifications.

  • Knowledge of the Jamaican financial market and regulatory landscape.
