Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate, short-term crisis intervention and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for suicide, self-harm, and harm to others, developing and implementing appropriate safety plans.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage acute distress and promote a sense of calm and safety for clients.
- Assess client needs and facilitate referrals to appropriate long-term mental health services, social support networks, and community resources.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation of all client interactions, assessments, and follow-up plans.
- Collaborate effectively with emergency services, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to ensure coordinated and holistic client care.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development training.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the healthcare and social services systems.
- Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available support systems.
