Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Officer to join our vibrant team in Rusape, Manicaland Province. This crucial role involves managing the efficient and compliant movement of goods through customs, ensuring all regulations are met, and minimizing delays for our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and submitting customs declarations for imports and exports, navigating complex tariff codes, and liaising with various stakeholders including customs authorities, clients, and internal operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for import and export shipments.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Liaise effectively with customs authorities, port officials, and other regulatory bodies.
- Review and verify all shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Calculate duties, taxes, and other applicable charges, and ensure timely payment.
- Advise clients on customs procedures, documentation requirements, and potential issues.
- Resolve any customs-related queries, discrepancies, or delays promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in customs legislation and trade policies.
- Collaborate with internal operations, sales, and transport teams to ensure smooth cargo flow.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of all customs clearance activities and documentation.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Zimbabwean customs procedures, tariffs, and regulations.
- Proficiency in customs declaration software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Customs Clearing (e.g., FIATA Diploma, local customs clearing courses).
- Experience with a specific customs declaration system widely used in Zimbabwe.
- Knowledge of regional trade agreements (e.g., COMESA, SADC).
