Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join our esteemed team in Moshupa, Southern District. This critical role offers the flexibility of both part-time and full-time engagement, catering to diverse professional needs while ensuring our robust security posture. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems and tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) for security incidents, anomalies, and potential breaches.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of security alerts, logs, and other data sources to identify, investigate, and triage potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery, following established incident response protocols.
  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and contribute to penetration testing efforts to identify weaknesses in our systems, applications, and networks.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the bank's overall security posture.
  • Provide recommendations for security improvements and actively participate in the evaluation and deployment of new security technologies and solutions.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, mitigation strategies, and industry trends, sharing knowledge with the team.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees to foster a culture of security throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security requirements are integrated into system development and operational processes.

Required Skills

  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud security principles.
  • Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and familiarity with common penetration testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex security incidents and draw accurate conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and constantly evolving threat landscape.
  • Knowledge of common attack techniques and remediation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or a related technical field.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, GSEC, or CISSP.
  • Experience in the financial services industry with knowledge of relevant regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 27001, POPIA).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with security frameworks like NIST CSF or MITRE ATT&CK.
