Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst with a strong focus on Threat Detection & Risk Control to join our growing team in Hulme, Manchester. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and tools for alerts, anomalous behavior, and potential security incidents.
- Perform in-depth analysis of security events, logs, and network traffic to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify weaknesses.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide expert recommendations for enhancing security controls, tools, and processes.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security into all aspects of the business.
- Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees.
- Contribute to risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong understanding of security principles, threat landscapes, and attack vectors.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Azure Sentinel, QRadar).
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Tenable.io).
- Knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS) and firewall management.
- Familiarity with operating systems security (Windows, Linux) and cloud security (AWS, Azure).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, GSEC, or CISSP.
