Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst with a strong focus on Threat Detection & Risk Control to join our growing team in Hulme, Manchester. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems and tools for alerts, anomalous behavior, and potential security incidents.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of security events, logs, and network traffic to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify weaknesses.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide expert recommendations for enhancing security controls, tools, and processes.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security into all aspects of the business.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong understanding of security principles, threat landscapes, and attack vectors.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Azure Sentinel, QRadar).
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Tenable.io).
  • Knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS) and firewall management.
  • Familiarity with operating systems security (Windows, Linux) and cloud security (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, GSEC, or CISSP.
  • Experience with incident response playbooks and forensic analysis techniques.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions.
