Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Governance Coordinator to join our team, working with one of our valued clients in Thunder Bay. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of our client’s cybersecurity governance framework. You will ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies, playing a crucial part in minimizing risk and enhancing the overall security posture. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with established cybersecurity policies and controls, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to cybersecurity, gathering evidence and facilitating auditor requests.
  • Maintain an inventory of cybersecurity risks, controls, and associated documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the management of the client's cybersecurity awareness and training programs, ensuring employees are informed of best practices and policy updates.
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to integrate cybersecurity requirements into new projects and initiatives from the outset.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and regulatory changes to proactively inform governance strategies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) role.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR, PCI DSS).
  • Proven ability to interpret technical and non-technical requirements and articulate them clearly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in policy writing and documentation.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and control implementation.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CISM, CISA, CRISC, or CISSP.
  • Experience with GRC platforms and tools.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
