Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily milking routines efficiently and hygienically, operating milking parlor equipment.
- Monitor herd health, identify sick animals, and assist with basic veterinary care under supervision.
- Feed and water livestock according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Clean and maintain cattle housing, milking parlors, and farm equipment to high standards of hygiene.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, feeders, and muck spreaders (training provided if necessary).
- Assist with calving, calf rearing, and youngstock management.
- Contribute to general farm duties, including fencing, field maintenance, and yard work.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and animal welfare protocols.
- Record relevant data accurately regarding herd performance, feed, and health treatments.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Previous experience working with livestock, preferably dairy cattle.
- Ability to operate basic farm machinery or a strong willingness to learn.
