As our Database Administrator, you will be the guardian of our clients’ data, playing a pivotal role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex database systems. You will work with a variety of database technologies, ranging from traditional relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL to modern NoSQL solutions. Your expertise will directly contribute to system reliability, data integrity, and overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain database servers and systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Monitor database performance, implement optimizations, and conduct regular capacity planning.
  • Develop, test, and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure database security, integrity, and availability through robust access controls and regular audits.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema design and query performance.
  • Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations as required.
  • Implement and maintain database automation scripts and tools.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and support on database architecture and best practices to internal teams and clients.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced knowledge of at least two major relational database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with database monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows) in relation to database operations.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in database administration (e.g., MCSA/MCSE: SQL Server, Oracle Certified Professional).
  • Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
