Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly dedicated, proactive, and detail-oriented Database Support Assistant to join our dynamic team in Vilankulo, Inhambane Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for database-related issues, efficiently troubleshooting and resolving common problems with speed and accuracy.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including regular data backups, comprehensive performance monitoring, and critical system health checks to ensure optimal operation and prevent downtime.
  • Assist in accurate data entry, thorough data validation, and ensuring complete data integrity across various banking applications and core platforms.
  • Collaborate effectively with senior IT personnel and central database administrators to escalate and meticulously resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Document detailed support procedures, effective solutions, and precise system configurations to maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge base for future reference.
  • Assist in the careful implementation and rigorous testing of database updates, security patches, and new features to enhance system functionality and security.
  • Educate and proactively support end-users on best practices for secure database interaction, data privacy, and efficient use of database-driven applications.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in basic SQL commands and fundamental database querying techniques for data manipulation and retrieval.
  • A foundational understanding of various database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) concepts and architecture.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and proven problem-solving abilities to diagnose and address technical issues effectively and creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in Portuguese and a good working knowledge of English for technical documentation and communication.
