Career.zycto is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Centre Assistant to join our vibrant team in the prestigious Mayfair area of London. Your daily routine will be dynamic and rewarding, encompassing a wide range of tasks designed to support our service users effectively. You will assist with personal care where needed, facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, gentle exercise, board games, and musical sessions, ensuring everyone feels included and valued. Beyond direct support, you will contribute to maintaining a welcoming and tidy centre environment, preparing light refreshments, and documenting observations to support care plans. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to service users, assisting with daily needs and personal care as required.
- Facilitate and lead engaging group activities, including arts and crafts, games, gentle exercises, and social interaction sessions.
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice for all service users within the day centre environment.
- Assist with the preparation and serving of light refreshments and meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the day centre.
- Observe and report any changes in service users' condition or behaviour to senior staff.
- Support the administrative tasks related to daily operations, including record-keeping and attendance monitoring.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a care or support role, preferably with older adults or vulnerable individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
- A positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience in facilitating group activities for adults.
