Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities and educational programs.
- Support senior staff in supervising and guiding a team of childcare assistants.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, providing updates on children's progress and addressing inquiries.
- Observe and document children's developmental milestones and report any concerns.
- Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
- Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
- Act as a positive role model for both children and junior staff members.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles and early years education.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- First Aid and Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, BTEC).
- Previous experience (paid or voluntary) in a childcare setting.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
