Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Daycare Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring smooth transitions between activities.
- Supervise and mentor junior childcare staff, providing guidance and support in their daily duties.
- Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children in care, adhering to all regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Help implement and monitor age-appropriate educational programs and activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and guardians, providing regular updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, attendance tracking, and supply management.
- Act as a role model for ethical conduct and professional practice within the daycare setting.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including first aid and emergency procedures.
Required Skills
- Prior experience in a childcare setting (e.g., nursery assistant, playgroup leader, or similar).
- Strong understanding of child development stages and early years education principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
