Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load, transport, and unload goods to various locations as per delivery schedules.
- Verify accuracy of delivered items against invoices and customer orders, ensuring no discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company safety policies while operating company vehicles.
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic operational checks of the delivery vehicle on a regular basis.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting, packing, and organising inventory when not on delivery routes.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, handling queries and feedback professionally and courteously.
- Accurately complete delivery logs, maintain detailed records of deliveries, and collect payments if required.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, potential delays, or issues.
- Assist in routing and planning delivery paths for optimal efficiency and timely service.
- Handle goods with utmost care to prevent damage during transit and ensure product integrity.
Required Skills
- Valid Mauritian driving license (Class B or equivalent for light vehicles)
- Proven ability to lift and carry heavy items regularly (up to 25kg)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and/or French/Creole
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
- Familiarity with local roads and navigation within Flacq District and surrounding areas
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy in order fulfillment
- Punctuality, reliability, and a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a delivery or transport assistant role
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and minor maintenance
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or inventory management systems
- Customer service experience in a retail or logistics setting
- Secondary school certificate (Form V / SC or equivalent)
