Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to customers within specified routes and timeframes.
- Verify accuracy of packages against delivery manifest before and after each delivery.
- Load and unload parcels carefully, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Collect customer signatures and payments (if applicable) and issue receipts.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery concerns professionally.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and proper functioning of the delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class G/E)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or professional driver
- Excellent knowledge of Port Harcourt roads and navigation
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg)
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Customer service-oriented with a polite and professional demeanor
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
- Familiarity with various types of delivery vehicles (vans, motorcycles)
