Are you a reliable, customer-focused individual with a passion for navigating the roads of Lesotho? Shoprite is urgently seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver to join our growing logistics team in Linakeng, Butha-Buthe. This is a critical role that ensures our valued customers receive their orders promptly and efficiently, maintaining the high standards of service Shoprite is renowned for across Southern Africa. As a Delivery Driver, you will be the vital link between our distribution operations and our customers, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods from our local hub directly to customer doorsteps or designated collection points within Linakeng and the broader Butha-Buthe area. Your day will involve meticulously checking orders against delivery manifests, ensuring goods are securely and appropriately loaded onto your vehicle, and handling all items with the utmost care throughout the entire delivery process. Beyond the essential driving responsibilities, this role requires excellent communication skills to interact positively and professionally with customers, resolve minor delivery-related issues efficiently, and provide crucial feedback to the logistics and management teams for continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport goods to various customer locations within Linakeng and surrounding Butha-Buthe areas.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifests before loading and after delivery.
- Ensure goods are loaded, secured, and unloaded carefully to prevent damage.
- Adhere strictly to assigned delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, handling queries or issues professionally.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Handle cash or electronic payments as required, ensuring accurate transactions.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
Required Skills
- Valid Class B (or equivalent) driver's license for Lesotho.
- Minimum of 1 year of proven driving experience, preferably in a delivery capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of local roads and navigation within Linakeng and Butha-Buthe.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
- High degree of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Clean driving record.
