Purolator is actively seeking a dedicated Delivery Logistics Helper to join our dynamic team in Thunder Bay. This full-time, on-site role is crucial to our daily success, supporting our drivers and warehouse operations in getting packages to their destinations efficiently and on time. As a Delivery Logistics Helper, you will be an integral part of our robust logistics chain, playing a hands-on role in the journey of every parcel. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve a variety of essential tasks, from meticulously assisting with the sorting of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring they are accurately categorized and routed, to safely loading and unloading parcels from delivery vehicles with precision and care. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist drivers with the efficient and safe loading and unloading of parcels and packages from delivery vehicles.
  • Sort and organize packages within the warehouse, adhering strictly to delivery routes, schedules, and destination codes.
  • Verify outgoing and incoming shipments for accuracy against manifests, invoices, and electronic records.
  • Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pump trucks, pallet jacks, and hand carts safely and proficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organization within the warehouse and loading dock areas.
  • Provide logistical support to delivery drivers, which may include assisting with route planning, manifest management, and navigation as needed.
  • Handle all packages and freight with utmost care to prevent damage during transit and storage.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, delivery drivers, supervisors, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, operational procedures, and governmental regulations at all times.
  • Perform other general duties as assigned by supervisors to support the seamless flow of logistics operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to consistently lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) throughout a shift.
  • Strong organizational skills and an excellent ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Basic proficiency in communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English) for understanding instructions and documentation.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends or holidays as operational needs demand.
  • Possession of a valid G-class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with a clean driving record is a significant asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Previous experience (e.g., 6 months to 1 year) in a warehouse, logistics, material handling, or delivery support environment.
  • Familiarity with Thunder Bay city geography, street names, and major routes.
  • Experience operating hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, or other non-motorized warehouse equipment.
  • A positive, resilient attitude and a strong team-player mentality, willing to assist colleagues when needed.
