Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and safely pick up and deliver packages to assigned residential and business locations.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Utilize handheld scanning devices to accurately track packages and update delivery status.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Load and unload packages carefully, ensuring secure transport and preventing damage.
- Optimize delivery routes using company-provided technology to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Collaborate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Proven ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) and handle objects up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage daily routes efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation and mobile scanning devices.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and road regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving or delivery experience in a similar role.
- Familiarity with Mississauga and surrounding Greater Toronto Area (GTA) roadways.
- Previous experience in a logistics, courier, or transportation environment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
