Key Responsibilities
- Receive, scan, and sort incoming parcels accurately at the depot.
- Load and unload parcels from delivery vehicles with care and according to safety protocols.
- Safely and efficiently deliver parcels to designated residential and commercial addresses within Kokoni and Zanzibar North.
- Obtain necessary signatures or confirm delivery through company-provided digital tools and procedures.
- Handle minor parcel inquiries and resolve basic delivery issues professionally and courteously.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and assigned delivery vehicles.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, traffic laws, and operational policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25 kg regularly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure efficient route planning and timely deliveries.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate parcel handling and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for positive customer interactions.
- Possession of a valid driver's license (motorcycle or car) appropriate for Zanzibar's road conditions.
- Familiarity with the geographical areas of Kokoni and Zanzibar North.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (e.g., 6 months to 1 year) in a delivery, logistics, warehousing, or similar physically demanding role.
- In-depth knowledge of local routes, landmarks, and shortcuts in Zanzibar North.
- Basic smartphone proficiency for navigation, using delivery applications, and communicating with the central office.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
