The Mauritius Post is seeking dedicated Delivery Riders to join our essential team in Trèfles, Rose Hill. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver parcels, letters, and other mail items to designated addresses within Trèfles, Rose Hill and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to assigned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of all items.
- Verify the correct recipient of parcels and obtain necessary signatures or confirmations as required.
- Handle cash payments or electronic transactions for Cash-on-Delivery (COD) items with accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the assigned delivery vehicle (motorcycle/scooter), performing routine checks.
- Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Report any delivery issues, vehicle malfunctions, or customer feedback promptly to the supervisor.
- Assist with loading and unloading of parcels at the depot as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid driving license for motorcycles (License A or A1) with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to navigate efficiently using maps, GPS, or local knowledge.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry parcels of varying weights.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a delivery rider or courier.
- Familiarity with the geographical area of Trèfles, Rose Hill and its environs.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- High School Certificate (SC/HSC) or equivalent.
