As a Delivery Rider, you will be the face of Jamaica Post, representing our commitment to efficient and friendly service. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently deliver mail, packages, and parcels to designated addresses within Anchovy and adjacent regions.
  • Adhere strictly to assigned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely service.
  • Verify recipient identity and obtain signatures when required, ensuring proof of delivery.
  • Handle all delivered items with care, preventing damage or loss.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle (motorbike/other) and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and mileage.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Process cash on delivery (COD) payments accurately where applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status and potential delays.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of delivery items at the dispatch hub.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (Class A for motorbikes preferred)
  • Proven safe driving record
  • Excellent navigation and route planning abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift moderate weights
  • High level of reliability and punctuality
  • Customer service orientation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a delivery or courier role (at least 6 months)
  • Familiarity with the Anchovy, St. James area and surrounding communities
  • Ownership of a well-maintained motorbike suitable for deliveries (optional, company vehicles may be provided)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
