Job Description

As a Delivery Routing Planner, you will be at the heart of our supply chain operations, responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously refining delivery routes that maximize vehicle utilization, minimize fuel consumption, and consistently meet our stringent delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Develop optimal daily and weekly delivery routes for a fleet of diverse vehicles, considering factors such as delivery windows, vehicle capacity, driver availability, traffic conditions, and special handling instructions.
- Utilize advanced routing software (e.g., Roadnet, Paragon, or similar) to generate efficient routes and provide clear, actionable directions to drivers.
- Monitor real-time delivery progress, proactively identify potential delays or issues, and implement swift corrective actions to maintain delivery schedules.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure accurate loading and timely dispatch of vehicles.
- Communicate effectively with sales representatives and customer service to address delivery-related inquiries and provide accurate estimated times of arrival (ETAs).
- Analyze route performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, mileage) and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on road closures, construction, and other local logistical challenges that may impact delivery operations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new logistics strategies and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and transportation laws.
- Assist in driver scheduling and workload management to ensure equitable distribution of tasks while maintaining operational targets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (4+ years) in logistics, transportation planning, or delivery routing.
- Proficiency in advanced routing and dispatch software (e.g., Roadnet, Descartes, Trimble TMS, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Jamaica, particularly major urban and rural routes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and management.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational demands.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with GPS tracking systems and real-time fleet management tools.
- Familiarity with Jamaican transportation regulations and compliance.
- Prior experience working with a large-scale distribution network.
