Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles (vans/cars) to deliver goods to customers within specified timeframes.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of products to prevent damage.
- Follow pre-determined delivery routes, ensuring punctuality and adherence to schedules.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifests before leaving the dispatch location and upon delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude.
- Collect signatures or payments as required, and accurately process all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delays, issues, or completion of deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to drive safely and navigate effectively using GPS or maps.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) repeatedly throughout the day.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, courier, or related transportation role.
- Familiarity with the Milton and surrounding Halton region road networks.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
- Ability to use a smartphone for delivery applications and communication.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
