Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery van to transport goods and packages to designated locations within Nairobi and its environs.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate delivery vehicles in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifests before and after each delivery run.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries, utilizing navigation tools as required.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Collect payments, obtain signatures, and handle all necessary paperwork accurately.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the company vehicle.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including sorting and organizing packages, when required.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with vans.
- Excellent knowledge of Nairobi road networks and geographical areas.
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently in various traffic conditions.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights.
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic numeracy and literacy for handling paperwork and manifests.
