Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to become an integral part of our vibrant team on Allerton Road, Liverpool. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert chairside assistance to dentists and hygienists during a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthetic, surgical (e.g., extractions, implants), and hygiene appointments.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring they are fully stocked, clean, and comply with strict cross-infection control and health and safety guidelines.
  • Accurately record patient notes, update dental records, and manage appointment bookings using practice management software.
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment meticulously, adhering to current GDC and CQC regulations.
  • Manage dental inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring efficient stock rotation.
  • Take, process, and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) as instructed, following appropriate radiation protection protocols.
  • Provide clear post-operative instructions to patients and offer reassurance throughout their visit.
  • Assist with laboratory tasks, such as pouring models and preparing impressions.
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor, ensuring patient comfort and privacy at all times.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the dental practice.

Required Skills

  • NEBDN National Certificate in Dental Nursing or equivalent approved qualification
  • GDC registration is mandatory and up-to-date
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably with some exposure to surgical procedures
  • Proficient in dental software systems (e.g., Exact, SOE)
  • Excellent knowledge of cross-infection control and health and safety protocols
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • A compassionate and reassuring approach to patient care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with implant dentistry and advanced restorative procedures
  • Additional qualifications in radiography or sedation nursing
  • Familiarity with digital scanning technology
  • Experience in an NHS and private practice setting
