Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Dental Clinic Support Technician to join our dynamic team in Riverside, Medicine Hat. This vital role is at the heart of our clinic’s smooth operation, ensuring our dental professionals have the reliable technical infrastructure and operational support needed to deliver exceptional patient care. As a Dental Clinic Support Technician, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various dental equipment, managing inventory, assisting with lab procedures, and maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of dental equipment (e.g., X-ray machines, sterilization units, dental chairs, handpieces).
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with dental software and hardware, escalating complex problems to external support as needed.
  • Manage and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of dental supplies, instruments, and materials, placing orders as required.
  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists with chairside support, including preparing treatment rooms and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Prepare and pour dental models, trim casts, and assist with other basic laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms, sterilization areas, and laboratory.
  • Educate patients on post-procedure care and oral hygiene instructions as directed by the dental professional.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including WHMIS and OH&S standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a dental clinic or healthcare support role (minimum 1 year).
  • Strong understanding of dental instruments, equipment, and materials.
  • Proficiency in sterilization and infection control protocols.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Dental Assistant or Dental Technician.
  • Experience with specific dental practice management software.
  • Knowledge of digital radiography systems.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
