Job Description
Curepipe Dental Centre is seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Dentist to join our esteemed practice in Forest Side, Curepipe. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional committed to delivering the highest standard of oral healthcare. As a Dentist with our team, you will be responsible for providing a full spectrum of general dentistry services, including diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative procedures, extractions, endodontics, periodontics, and comprehensive preventive care. You will work closely with our dental hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience from initial consultation to follow-up care. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Administer local anesthesia effectively and perform a wide range of restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, and bridges.
- Conduct endodontic treatments (root canal therapy) and exodontics (simple and surgical extractions) with precision.
- Provide periodontal therapy and implement effective preventive care, including professional cleanings, fluoride applications, and dental sealants.
- Educate patients thoroughly on proper oral hygiene techniques, post-operative care instructions, and dietary recommendations for maintaining optimal oral health.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
- Ensure strict adherence to all infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and safety guidelines to maintain a sterile and safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate effectively with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff to optimize patient flow, ensure efficient clinic operations, and provide holistic patient care.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements, technologies, and best practices in dentistry through continuous professional education and training.
- Address patient concerns promptly and professionally, and provide emergency dental services as needed to alleviate pain and discomfort.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid license to practice dentistry in Mauritius.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable clinical experience in general dentistry post-licensure.
- Proficiency in a wide range of dental procedures, techniques, and emergency protocols.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with a genuinely patient-centric approach.
- Strong diagnostic capabilities and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a dedicated healthcare team.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and unwavering high ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital dentistry technologies, such as intraoral scanners, digital radiography, and CAD/CAM systems.
- Additional certifications, advanced training, or specialization in areas like orthodontics, implantology, cosmetic dentistry, or pediatric dentistry.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and French/Creole) to effectively communicate with our diverse patient base.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
