Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate DevOps Engineer to join our growing team in Riverside South, Ottawa. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) for performance, cost-efficiency, and security compliance.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively ensure system health, performance, and uptime.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure applications are designed for scalability, reliability, and ease of deployment.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using leading tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities across our stack.
- Promote and implement industry best practices for secure coding, infrastructure as code (IaC), and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely support for critical systems and incident response.
- Document processes, configurations, architectural decisions, and runbooks thoroughly to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Extensive knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk)
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Certifications in relevant cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional)
- Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
- Knowledge of database administration (SQL and NoSQL databases)
- Familiarity with security best practices, compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO27001), and vulnerability management
- Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd)
