Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals and beverages according to planned menus, dietary restrictions, and resident preferences with accuracy and care.
- Assist residents/patients with meal selections, provide friendly, empathetic service in dining areas, and facilitate efficient tray delivery.
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained in the kitchen, dining areas, and all equipment, strictly adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor food temperatures and portion sizes consistently to maintain quality, prevent waste, and ensure adherence to all dietary guidelines.
- Stock, organize, and replenish food supplies efficiently, rotating items to ensure freshness and minimize spoilage.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with kitchen staff, nursing teams, and dietitians regarding resident dietary needs, changes, and any concerns.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper labeling, dating, and inventory management.
- Adhere strictly to all facility policies, procedures, and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation principles (HACCP knowledge preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in meal preparation and service.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lbs (approx. 11 kg) regularly throughout shifts.
- Empathy, compassion, and a respectful attitude when interacting with residents/patients and their families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a healthcare, long-term care, or hospitality food service setting.
- Knowledge of special diets (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, pureed, allergen-free).
- Basic German language skills (B1 level or higher) to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
