Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Business Systems to lead the strategic development, implementation, and optimization of our enterprise-wide business systems and technology infrastructure. Based at our key operational hub in Banket, Mashonaland West Province, this role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and supporting National Foods Limited’s continued growth trajectory. The successful candidate will be responsible for aligning our business systems with strategic objectives, ensuring seamless integration across various departments from manufacturing and logistics to finance and sales. This includes overseeing the full lifecycle of our ERP systems, CRM platforms, data analytics tools, and other critical business applications. You will champion digital transformation initiatives, identify technological opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve overall business performance. This is a leadership position that requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technological innovation within the organization, ensuring our systems are robust, scalable, and secure to meet the evolving demands of our dynamic industry. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business systems strategy aligned with the company's overall strategic objectives.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, CRM, business intelligence tools, and other critical business applications.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of business systems projects, from requirements gathering and design to deployment, user training, and post-implementation support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying technological solutions to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve business processes.
- Manage and mentor a team of business analysts, system administrators, and IT support staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with departmental heads to understand their needs and translate business requirements into functional system specifications.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for software, hardware, and IT services.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget for business systems, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions.
- Facilitate change management processes related to new system implementations or upgrades, ensuring smooth adoption across the organization.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in leading business systems strategy and implementation in a complex organizational environment.
- Extensive knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and their application in manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale IT projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of business processes in areas such as finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and sales.
- Proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, and data privacy regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a relevant technical field.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or IT service management (e.g., ITIL).
- Experience with cloud-based business systems and digital transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with the agricultural or food manufacturing industry in Southern Africa.
- Experience managing a diverse team across multiple locations or functions.
