Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Content Strategy to lead our content initiatives and elevate our brand storytelling across all platforms. This pivotal role will be responsible for defining, developing, and executing a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with National Foods Limited’s business objectives, marketing goals, and brand identity. You will be instrumental in enhancing our digital footprint, fostering deeper consumer engagement, and reinforcing our position as a market leader.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the evolving digital landscape, consumer behaviour, and best practices in content creation, distribution, and performance measurement. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with brand objectives, marketing campaigns, and business goals across all digital and traditional platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of content creators, editors, and strategists, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the entire content lifecycle, from ideation and planning to creation, distribution, promotion, and performance analysis.
  • Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and audience segmentation to identify content opportunities and tailor messaging effectively.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, tone of voice, legal standards, and best practices for SEO and accessibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product development, and PR teams to ensure content consistency and amplification.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for content, monitor content performance using analytics tools, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Identify emerging content trends, technologies, and platforms to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation.
  • Manage the editorial calendar and content budget efficiently, optimizing resources for maximum impact.
  • Champion the use of data-driven insights to refine content strategy and improve engagement and conversion rates.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful content strategies for large organizations, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, SEM, social media, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrable experience with content analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights) and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinking with a creative mindset and a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Familiarity with the Zimbabwean market dynamics and consumer behaviour.
  • Experience with video content strategy and production.
