Job Description
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and visionary Director of Corporate Strategy to join our executive leadership team at ZESA Holdings, based in the strategically vital Kariba region. This critical role will be instrumental in shaping the long-term direction and sustainable growth of Zimbabwe’s national power utility. The Director of Corporate Strategy will lead the development, articulation, and execution of comprehensive strategic plans that align with our national mandate, market dynamics, technological advancements, and regulatory environment. You will be responsible for identifying emerging opportunities, mitigating potential risks, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance our operational efficiency, expand our energy generation capabilities, and improve customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous refinement of ZESA Holdings' long-term corporate strategy, vision, and strategic objectives in alignment with national energy policies and economic goals.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, competitor analysis, and industry trend assessment to identify strategic opportunities, threats, and areas for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Drive strategic planning processes, including goal setting, initiative prioritization, resource allocation, and performance measurement frameworks across various business units.
- Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures that support ZESA’s strategic growth ambitions and enhance its market position.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and successful implementation of corporate initiatives.
- Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess the viability and potential impact of strategic projects and investment decisions.
- Monitor and report on the progress of strategic initiatives, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Foster a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Represent ZESA Holdings in strategic forums, industry conferences, and discussions with national and international partners.
