Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Ecommerce to lead our digital retail strategy and operations. Based in Hwange, Matabeleland North Province, this pivotal role will be instrumental in accelerating OK Zimbabwe Limited’s online growth, enhancing customer experience, and expanding our digital footprint across the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive e-commerce roadmap, encompassing everything from platform management and digital marketing to supply chain optimization for online sales and customer service. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, operations, and merchandising, to integrate our online and offline strategies seamlessly, ensuring a unified brand experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in scaling e-commerce businesses, driving revenue growth, and building high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives, focusing on revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of all e-commerce platforms, ensuring optimal performance, user experience, and conversion rates.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing e-commerce team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Formulate and implement robust digital marketing strategies (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing) to drive traffic and customer acquisition.
  • Analyze e-commerce performance metrics, sales data, and market trends to identify opportunities, develop actionable insights, and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and operations teams to optimize fulfillment processes, ensuring efficient delivery and superior customer service for online orders.
  • Manage the e-commerce budget, forecast sales, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and market trends to ensure OK Zimbabwe Limited remains at the forefront of digital retail innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant e-commerce regulations, data privacy laws, and security standards.
  • Drive personalization and loyalty initiatives to enhance customer retention and lifetime value.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in e-commerce, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial role.
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing and scaling e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Magento, WooCommerce, custom builds).
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, Social Media, Email, Analytics) and their application in retail.
  • Proficiency in e-commerce analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and data-driven decision making.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful e-commerce strategies that drive significant revenue growth.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA) or relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience working in the retail or FMCG sector within an emerging market context.
  • Certifications in Digital Marketing, E-commerce Management, or Project Management.
