Job Description

KTDA Holdings Ltd. is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Field Services to lead our extensive field operations within Bomet County, Kenya. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of all field activities that support our tea factories and smallholder farmers in the region. The Director will drive operational excellence, optimize tea collection logistics, enhance farmer engagement programs, and ensure the consistent application of best agricultural practices to maintain our renowned tea quality. You will be instrumental in managing large teams of field officers and regional managers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. This position requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of agricultural supply chains, strong people management skills, and a commitment to sustainable development. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for all field service operations within Bomet County, aligning with KTDA’s overall objectives.
  • Oversee and optimize tea collection, logistics, and supply chain efficiency from farm gate to factory.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of field officers and regional managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Design and execute farmer engagement programs, extension services, and training initiatives to enhance tea quality and yield.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards, agricultural best practices, and sustainability guidelines at the farmer level.
  • Manage the field services budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with smallholder farmers, local government, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Implement and monitor field data collection systems to provide accurate insights for operational improvements and strategic decision-making.
  • Address and resolve complex operational challenges, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural, environmental, and labor regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on field performance, challenges, and opportunities for senior management.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership experience (minimum 12 years) in managing large-scale field operations, preferably in agriculture.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational management and supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and utilizing relevant technological tools.
