Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and strategic Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Matabeleland North Province, Zimbabwe. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's strategic objectives and business needs.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of engaging and effective learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps through thorough needs assessments and collaborate with departmental heads to propose targeted learning interventions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all L&D initiatives using relevant metrics and analytics to demonstrate ROI and make data-driven improvements.
  • Champion the adoption of innovative learning technologies and methodologies, including e-learning platforms, blended learning, and experiential learning.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends in learning and development, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to integrate L&D initiatives with overall talent management strategies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior Learning & Development leadership role, preferably within a dynamic organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate impactful learning strategies and programs.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading L&D teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to assess program effectiveness and inform decisions.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Learning & Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
  • Experience working in diverse cultural environments, particularly in African markets.
  • Proficiency with various Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Familiarity with talent management software and performance appraisal systems.
