Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Chiredzi, Masvingo Province. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader passionate about cultivating a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and organizational effectiveness. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative learning strategies and programs that align with our company’s mission and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and cutting-edge learning technologies. You will act as a key advisor to senior leadership, identifying skill gaps, forecasting future talent needs, and ensuring our employees are equipped with the knowledge and abilities to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s business goals and talent objectives.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate innovative training programs, workshops, and e-learning modules covering leadership development, technical skills, compliance, and soft skills.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future training requirements across various departments and levels.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships effectively to ensure maximum impact and ROI.
  • Implement and leverage learning technologies (LMS, LXP) to enhance program delivery, accessibility, and tracking.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of L&D initiatives on employee performance and business outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with HR business partners, department heads, and senior leadership to integrate L&D initiatives into broader talent management strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends to ensure Career.zycto remains a leader in employee growth.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning throughout the organization, promoting self-directed learning and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or directorial role.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating successful L&D strategies and programs.
  • Expertise in adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies (LMS administration).
  • Strong strategic planning, project management, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using metrics to measure L&D effectiveness and impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex organizational environment.
  • Certifications in areas such as CPTD, ATD, or relevant leadership development programs.
  • Experience with blended learning approaches and digital learning transformation.
  • Familiarity with talent management systems beyond core LMS functionalities.
