Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Mashonaland West Province. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture by designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive learning strategies that align with our strategic objectives and foster continuous professional growth for all employees. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to senior leadership, translating business needs into impactful learning programs, and ensuring our workforce remains agile, skilled, and future-ready. You will be responsible for creating a robust framework for talent development, from entry-level onboarding to executive leadership programs, covering technical skills, soft skills, compliance training, and career pathing. This role demands a proactive leader with a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and the latest L&D technologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's overall business goals and talent objectives.
  • Design, develop, and deliver innovative training programs, workshops, and e-learning modules covering leadership, technical skills, compliance, and professional development.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of L&D professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality program delivery.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across all departments and levels.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-impact solutions.
  • Establish metrics and evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and ROI of all learning programs, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning technologies (LMS, LXP) and tools.
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to integrate L&D initiatives with talent management, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies in learning and development.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale L&D programs and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM), and blended learning approaches.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other HR/L&D technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence organizational change.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and measure impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPTD, ATD certifications, SHRM-SCP, HRCI-SPHR).
  • Experience working in a professional services or consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with talent assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with change management principles and frameworks.
