Job Description

Pioneer Corporation Africa Ltd is seeking an exceptional Director of Learning & Development to join our strategic leadership team in Centenary, Mashonaland Central Province. This pivotal role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning and development strategies that align with Pioneer’s strategic objectives across our diverse operations in transport, logistics, and agriculture. You will be instrumental in cultivating a high-performance culture, enhancing employee capabilities, and ensuring we have the talent pipeline necessary for future growth and succession.

As our Director of L&D, you will lead the charge in identifying critical skill gaps, developing innovative training programs, and fostering a continuous learning environment. This includes everything from leadership development and technical skills training to compliance and professional growth initiatives. You will leverage cutting-edge learning methodologies, digital platforms, and strategic partnerships to deliver impactful and measurable results. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with Pioneer's business goals and talent objectives.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, and compliance modules.
  • Identify critical skill gaps and future talent needs across all business units (transport, logistics, agriculture).
  • Oversee the management and continuous improvement of learning technologies and platforms.
  • Establish robust metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and ROI of L&D initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to integrate L&D initiatives with broader talent management, performance, and succession planning processes.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships effectively.
  • Stay abreast of L&D best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends to ensure Pioneer remains at the forefront of talent development.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing large-scale L&D strategies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and modern learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure L&D effectiveness and impact on business results.
  • Strategic thinking with a practical, results-oriented approach.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-faceted organizational environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Learning & Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
  • Experience working within the agriculture, transport, or logistics sectors.
  • Familiarity with talent analytics and data-driven L&D decision-making.
