Job Description
Tanganda Tea Company Limited, a cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s agricultural and beverage industry with a rich heritage and a commitment to sustainable growth, is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the future capabilities of our diverse workforce, spanning extensive agricultural operations, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, dynamic sales and marketing teams, and essential corporate functions. The Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive L&D strategies and programs that are not only aligned with our long-term strategic objectives but also foster a vibrant culture of continuous learning, innovation, and adaptability.
This includes conducting thorough organizational needs assessments to identify critical skill gaps and future competency requirements across various departments, from farm-level supervisors to executive leadership. You will then be tasked with developing bespoke, impactful training solutions, leveraging modern learning technologies such as e-learning platforms, virtual reality simulations for practical skills, and blended learning approaches to maximize engagement and retention. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with the company's strategic goals and future talent needs.
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programs, including technical, leadership, and soft skills training.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future competency requirements across all organizational levels and departments.
- Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality program delivery.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of L&D initiatives using relevant metrics and data analytics, continuously refining programs based on feedback and results.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.
- Introduce and integrate modern learning technologies and methodologies (e.g., e-learning, blended learning, virtual reality, gamification).
- Coach and mentor a team of L&D professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance.
- Collaborate closely with HR business partners, senior leadership, and department heads to ensure L&D initiatives meet specific business unit needs.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends in learning science, and compliance requirements to ensure leading-edge L&D solutions.
