Job Description

As the Director of L&D, you will be instrumental in shaping the talent landscape across various sectors in Zimbabwe, developing comprehensive strategies that empower employees at all levels to excel. You will oversee the entire L&D lifecycle, from needs assessment and curriculum design to program delivery, evaluation, and impact measurement. We are looking for someone who can not only lead a team but also inspire a learning mindset, leverage cutting-edge methodologies, and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with organizational goals and client needs.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programs, workshops, and e-learning modules.
  • Conduct thorough training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities across various departments and client organizations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all L&D initiatives using relevant metrics and feedback mechanisms, continually refining programs for optimal impact.
  • Manage and mentor a team of L&D specialists and trainers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and HR partners to integrate L&D programs into broader talent management and succession planning strategies.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and adult learning theories to ensure cutting-edge program delivery.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships efficiently to maximize return on investment.

Required Skills

  • Proven leadership in Learning & Development strategy and execution.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in L&D technologies and platforms (e.g., LMS, e-learning authoring tools).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and demonstrate program ROI.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification in relevant L&D areas (e.g., CPTD, ATD credentials).
  • Experience working in a consulting environment or across diverse industry sectors.
