Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s business goals and talent objectives.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative training programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, compliance, and soft skills.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps through needs assessments, performance reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Select and manage external training vendors and consultants, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness of services.
  • Establish and manage the L&D budget, monitoring expenditure and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Implement and oversee learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies to enhance program delivery and accessibility.
  • Measure the effectiveness of L&D initiatives using key performance indicators (KPIs), feedback mechanisms, and ROI analysis.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth across the organization.
  • Mentor and develop a small team of L&D professionals, if applicable, to support program delivery.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning and development.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing successful L&D strategies and programs.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in leveraging learning technologies and platforms (e.g., LMS, e-learning tools).
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to assess needs and measure program impact.
  • Strong project management capabilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Certifications in L&D, talent management, or change management (e.g., CPTM, ATD).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with the Zimbabwean professional landscape and local talent development challenges.
  • Experience with blended learning approaches and adult learning principles.
